◈ Private, invitation-only workspaceMargin is a private document workspace provided by LampBotics AI Lab. This statement describes how this installation handles your information.
Workspace files, comments, quoted passages, reviewer names, document history and exported reviews are stored on the server hosting Margin. Account records include your username, display name and a hashed password. The service also keeps activity and access logs for operation and security, and administrators may retain backups.
Documents and comments are available to people with access to the workspace. Administrators manage those assignments; server operators can access stored data. Local coding agents require an explicit server identity assignment and permission to access the workspace in their own environment.
Saving comments to a project creates a review file alongside the project so authorized agents can read the feedback. Copying the agent prompt saves current edits and exports posted comments. Margin does not automatically send your documents or comments to an external AI service. If you share a prompt, file or comment with another service, that service’s privacy practices apply to the information you share.
Margin uses an essential session cookie to keep you signed in. Advertising and third-party analytics are not built into Margin. External links you choose to open are governed by the destination site’s privacy practices.
Moving a file to Trash keeps it recoverable; it does not permanently delete the file or its comments. Earlier copies can remain in review exports, document history and backups. Contact your workspace administrator about access, corrections, copies of your data, retention or permanent deletion.
